On New Year’s Eve 1974, Janet Regina Mardenbourgh, suffered a brain aneurism, went into a coma and died eight days later without ever recovering consciousness. She was 21.
Janet had many friends and was known affectionately as the Munchkin because of her diminutive size 4’11’ 3/4 and 99lbs. In the days before cell phones, email and text messages word of her death spread slowly. Her friends lamented her loss when her life was just beginning, before she had a chance to fulfill her dreams; “make a difference” and leave the world a better place than she found it.
Understandable, she was a remarkable woman with tremendous potential, but they were wrong, she already had. She’d touched the lives and hearts of many including one young man who never forgot her and 34 years later suffered two brain aneurisms. Science and surgery had advanced and the man survived with experimental surgery.
He formed this charitable foundation to honor her memory. One person like Janet can “make a difference”. Love can make a difference and make the world a better place. Make a donation and help the Munchkin fulfill her dreams.
